We got in to BA at 7am, so we parked ourselves at a coffee shop and drank cafe con leche. David was long overdue for a haircut, and had been putting it off until Argentina. The morning we arrived he cut to the chase. Much better! The hair stylist was good, though we had a bit of trouble commnicating. How do you describe what an agente de patentes does? Milica called me "agente de patates" for the rest of the trip. The weather was perfect for walking around and exploring. It was love at first sight for Milica. The trees were in full bloom. It was lovely.

This is the national flower of Argentina. There were lots of monuments. Shopping! (In a change of roles, Milica bought next to nothing and David was the big spender.)

Milica did buy a hat. We discovered that not all Argentines are fashionable. There was one rainy day. We took shelter to wait out the rain. This is us being cute.

Milica planning our day. We went to the botanical gardens. And ate empanadas from a local empanada place. Yum! Everyone in Buenos Aires seemed to have a dog. (And only half of them seemed to pick up after their pets.)

This was an indoor archery range, in case you were wondering. We stayed at Hotel Ultra in Palermo Viejo, the "SoHo" of Buenos Aires. View of the neighborhood from the rooftop terrace. Milica packed high-heeled shoes, but liked the hotel slippers too. We liked it there!

We would start our days with a leisurely breakfast before we began our marathon walking tours. There were lots of new cars on the roads, but we also saw some really cool old cars too. The economic crisis of 1999-2002 still had lingering after-effects.

There was a lot of artsy stencil graffiti. Some of it was commercial... ... and some was social commentary.

These are song lyrics. Some of it was plain weird.

All of it was eye catching. On Sunday we trolled the street fair in San Telmo. There were bands...

... one with a piano! Antiques. Street food.
